In 2016, Hispanic Federation launched FUERZAfest, a Latinx LGBTQ arts festival which not only celebrated a vibrant community, but addressed critical issues impacting it.  Since then, events have been held in New York, Florida, and Connecticut to create a space for dialogue and awareness of the systemic barriers and threats faced by the Latinx LGBTQ+ communities.

FUERZAfest returns to Hartford to connect LGBTQ members, straight allies, community leaders, and artists on a packed day celebration of Latinx LGBTQ culture with short film screenings, networking events, music, dance showcase and more.

Highlighting the theme, “Art on the Frontline,” FUERZAfest Connecticut will also include discussions underscoring the impact of the arts as a catalyst for action and a safeguard against homophobia, transphobia, racism, and xenophobia.

This free, one-day festival will be held on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at the The Mark Twain House & Museum.
